Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with lower air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant compared to other "tubeless ready" tires.

The bead of TR tires is fully covered by a layer of rubber, just like a true UST tubeless tire. This means tubeless mounting on all rims with standard sizes succeeds on the first inflation and with little sealant. Regular Maxxis MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, like tires from other manufacturers, because the casing fabrics are very dense. However, only the new Maxxis TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis.
