To keep your Green Ice lettuce fresh and crisp, follow these steps:

1. Do Not Wash Before Storing: Avoid washing the lettuce before storing it. Excess moisture can promote mold and spoilage.

2. Remove Damaged Leaves: Discard any damaged or wilted leaves to prevent bacteria from spreading.

3. Wrap in Paper Towels: Wrap the whole head of lettuce in a paper towel or a thin dish towel. This helps absorb excess moisture.

4. Use a Plastic Bag: Place the wrapped lettuce in a plastic bag. If you have a microperforated bag, it is even better, as it allows air circulation.

5. Store in the Crisper Drawer: Keep the lettuce in your refrigerator's crisper drawer. This drawer is designed to maintain the right humidity for vegetables.

6. Check Regularly: Periodically check the lettuce and replace the paper towel if it becomes too damp.
