The Chase Tactical Rapid Disconnect Cummerbund (RDC) is a MIL Spec 500D Cordura cummerbund designed to retrofit most plate carriers with a quick-release capability. Built around Chase Tactical's proprietary Rapid Disconnect System (RDS), it lets you detach and reattach the cummerbund in seconds without sacrificing the MOLLE real estate you need for pouches, side plates, or soft armor panels. Available in SM/MD (fits 26"–38") and LG/XL (fits 38"–44"), the RDC ships as a complete set and weighs 0.60 lbs.
The RDC threads into any plate carrier with a rear pass-through cummerbund pocket. It is confirmed compatible with the Chase Tactical MEAC, LOPC, and LVPC-E plate carriers. For other carriers, the pass-through pocket is the only fitment requirement. To size correctly, measure approximately two finger-lengths above your belly button and match to the size range: SM/MD covers 26"–38" and LG/XL covers 38"–44".
The internal soft armor pocket accepts a 5.5" x 8.5" soft armor panel in SM/MD and a 5.5" x 10" panel in LG/XL. Soft armor panels are sold separately. The hook-and-loop adjustment system allows fine-tuning across the full size range without tools.
Three rows of PALS/MOLLE webbing run along each exterior side of the cummerbund, giving you a full attachment field for pistol mag pouches, utility pouches, or hard side plate pockets. The RDS quick-release mechanism handles detachment with a single pull, which matters when a carrier needs to come off fast under medical or tactical scenarios.
Bar tacking and reverse stitching reinforce all stress points throughout the panel. All fabrics, webbing, and plastic hardware are treated at the source to deliver the lowest IR signature possible — a meaningful detail for users operating in low-light or NVG environments where thermal and IR discipline matters.
It is confirmed compatible with the Chase Tactical MEAC, LOPC, and LVPC-E plate carriers. Beyond those, it fits most plate carriers on the market that have a rear pass-through cummerbund pocket. If you are unsure whether your carrier qualifies, contact us before ordering.
No. The cummerbund shell is not a ballistic-rated component. The internal pocket accepts a soft armor panel that provides ballistic coverage, but the panel is sold separately and carries its own NIJ designation independent of this cummerbund.
SM/MD accepts a 5.5" x 8.5" panel. LG/XL accepts a 5.5" x 10" panel. Both sizes are sold separately. The pocket is designed to hold the panel securely while still allowing removal when needed.
Measure approximately two finger-lengths above your belly button. SM/MD covers a 26"–38" circumference and fits the majority of users. LG/XL covers 38"–44". The hook-and-loop system adjusts across the full range within each size.
Yes. The Rapid Disconnect System is designed to stay locked under high-movement and physical stress, including running, shooting, and dynamic range use. It releases on a deliberate pull rather than incidental contact.
Any plate carrier with a rear pass-through cummerbund pocket is compatible. The hook-and-loop adjustment and RDS hardware are self-contained, so no additional adapters are required for standard pass-through-equipped carriers.
