Cheap Trick
Description:
The world's first CD release of a rare live performance from just after the band's debut in Japan! The world's first CD release of the live performance from 45 years ago, which was previously available only in analog and digital format and sold out on RSD, is now available with bonus tracks only in Japan. The CD features 22 tracks from the Whisky-A-Go-Go shows in LA on June 3 and 4, 1977. In addition, 6 additional bonus tracks from the same venue at the same time are also included. The album captures Cheap Trick at the night before their big breakthrough with "at Budokan" and right after their debut, and brings back their high-energy, high-octane live performance with the highest quality and realistic, powerful sound. Remastered by Guy Massey (engineer and mixer for Beatles reissues, Oasis, Radiohead, Ed Sheeran, etc.) from the original 16-channel 1/2-inch master tape discovered in Sony Music's master tape warehouse. The songs that were to appear on their second and third albums, "Blue Highway" and "Heaven's Trap," respectively, were performed with different lyrics and arrangements from the album versions, and the classic songs that would later become standard in their live performances were performed with different arrangements. This is a rare live performance with perfect sound, and it is available on CD only in Japan.
