The Coral Beauty Angelfish needs plenty of space to move around as it often likes to cruise the tank in search of algae and other bits of food. It exhibits variation of color, and is often dark blue on the head and fins with dark orange stripes vertically giving a flame effect to the fish. It is also known as Twospined Angelfish, Dusky Angelfish, or Coral Beauty (Centropyge bispinosa). It has spines over its gill which can become entangled while netting, therefore we suggest you to use bucket and refrain nets. This marine angelfish often looks similar to Centropyge aurantia, and should not be confused with it. Since the Coral Beauty Angelfish mainly looks for algae, we suggest you to keep a few live rocks in the home aquarium where algae can grow naturally. The aquarium must contain a lot of crevices for the Coral Beauty Angelfish to seek shelter in. The Coral Beauty Angelfish thrives well in a temperature of 72-80 degree Fahrenheit and pH value between 8.1-8.4 and the water hardness at 8-12. Keeping the centropyge angelfish in group or singly is recommended because if it is kept in more than one then they might end up in violence and aggression. The Coral Beauty angelfish is not really considered as reef safe, as it have the tendency to nip corals and other types of invertebrates. It is prone to nip stony and soft corals, and can also harm feather dusters and anemones. The Coral Beauty Angelfish feeds chiefly on algae and also ingest tiny organisms. Additional meaty foods such as brine shrimp and Mysis shrimps are also beneficial in its continued healthly growth.
