Description:
Motoo Ohtaguro, who was fascinated by the most advanced Western music of the time in England where he studied and introduced the latest European music trends to Japan, held about 12 "Piano Evenings" from 1915 to 1917 at his residence in Omori-Sanno, where even those who could play the piano satisfactorily were rare in early Taisho era Japan, about 100 years ago. This album contains piano pieces that are closely related to Motoo Ohtaguro, mainly pieces that he actually played at his "Piano Evenings" (many of which were premiered in Japan), which were held at his residence in Omori-Sanno between 1915 and 1917. The piano used is a 1900 Steinway owned by Motoo Ohtaguro.
