Pumpkin seed has been traditionally used in herbal medicine throughout Europe as a remedy for urinary problems associated with an enlarged prostate gland and irritable bladder. It is approved by the German Commission E as a therapeutic agent for these conditions. The underlying mechanisms behind pumpkin seeds’ benefits are not entirely clear. From a nutritional standpoint, pumpkin seeds contain amino acid precursors for nitric oxide, which is needed to relax the urination muscles and decrease pressure in a full bladder.

Directions

Recommended Adult Dose

First 2 weeks: 1 capsule 3 times daily or as directed by a health Wellness-Care practitioner.

After the first 2 weeks: 1 capsule 2 times daily or as directed by a health Wellness-Care practitioner.

Caution

Consult a health Wellness-Care practitioner prior to use to exclude a diagnosis of prostate cancer, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a health Wellness-Care practitioner in cases of blood in the urine or acute urine retention, or if symptoms persist or worsen. Hypersensitivity (allergy) has been known to occur, in which case discontinue use. Do not take if you are allergic to Cucurbita species. Keep out of reach of children.
