The band disbanded in 1975, but reformed in 1983 with Billy Cobham and three new musicians. The new Mahavishnu Orchestra, with Bill Evans on saxophone, was less Indian in essence and more jazz fusion in color, reflecting the times. After the release of the new album "Adventures in Radioland," the newly formed Mahavishnu Orchestra will tour Europe with a focus on festivals. The band performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, one of the world's leading jazz festivals held in the Netherlands, and the discovery of the audio masters recorded for TV/radio broadcast at the festival led to the release of this album.The live performance consists of songs from the two albums, Bill Evans' songs, new songs, and songs from the first album in the 70's.
