96 Points Robert Parker: "While the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label may not offer all the floral fireworks of the Leopoldina Vineyard bottling, it showcases admirable depth and purity of cassis and black cherry fruit. It's full-bodied, perhaps a bit more powerful, richer and more tannic, with hints of mocha and cigar box as well. Long and sultry on the finish, it picks up extra complexity in the form of salted licorice, black olives and earth."

94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "I loved the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label, and it’s certainly a standout in the vintage. Beautifully ripe darker fruits, chocolate, leafy herbs, and some spicy oak all define the aromatics, and it’s rich on the palate, with a layered, textured mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish."

Turnbull Cellars has been on a spectacular roll of quality over the last five to six years, if not longer. These are some of the most compelling wines being made in Northern California. Readers should take that to heart. By and large the Turnbull 2014s tended to perform in a slightly more backward style than many wines of the vintage, so some minimal bottle aging is suggested. However, they are all impressive wines that combine plenty of power with impressive elegance and equilibrium."
