The songs were newly transferred from the original multi-tracks, remixed, and cleaned up to the highest sound quality. ■The album title, "Gimme Some Truth." is a reference to his 1971 song "I Want the Truth," which was a scathing indictment of political deception, hypocrisy, and war, and it is still relevant in this age of fake news and uncertainty about what is the truth. ■ The photo on the album cover is a rare black and white photo of John in profile, taken on the day he went to return the MBE medal, which is unusual for him.
