• Upon registration, you will be added to a WhatsApp group where downloadable PDFs for each weekly session will be shared. I will also be available during designated hours to guide you and answer any questions you may have about your project through the group.
• Each session will be recorded, and a replay link will be shared the following day so you can watch it at your own pace. The recordings will remain available for one month.

What is this Zoom Class about?

In this course, we will create a beautiful, miniature Victorian lampshade featuring a tiny lighting system! While you shouldn't expect to read a book under its tiny glow, this delicate piece of artwork will certainly enhance the ambiance of any room. It is a fun, hands-on journey designed to elevate your embroidery skills, incorporating a variety of techniques from stumpwork and padded bullions to beaded fringes and thread painting. 

Techniques

Explore the world of dimensional embroidery through a rich variety of techniques, such as stumpwork, padding, beaded fringe, sequin stitching, and thread painting. Beyond the embroidery, you will discover wearable electronics used in textile art. These are specifically designed to be stitched onto fabrics and garments. In this course, you will learn how to seamlessly integrate this system into your embroidered lampshade.

Requirements: Materials & Kits

A curated kit containing most of the materials needed to create this piece of art will be sent directly to you. Please note that the CR2032 battery for the lighting system is not included, as batteries are restricted for shipping. You will need to provide this item separately.

Who is eligible for this course?

The techniques covered in this course are accessible to all levels. However, due to the multi-step nature of the project, it may be challenging as a first attempt for a complete beginner. While prior embroidery experience will make the process smoother, anyone with patience and a desire to learn is more than welcome to join.

Technical Information

• Platform: Classes will be delivered via a Zoom Pro account, supporting high-quality 1080p (Full HD) streaming.

• Visuals & Audio: To ensure every stitch is visible, sessions are recorded using an iPhone camera for high-resolution detail, paired with a DJI wireless microphone for crystal-clear audio.

• Connectivity: The stream is supported by a stable high-speed fiber optic connection.

Due to the detailed nature of hand embroidery, this class involves fine craftsmanship that may be physically demanding. If you have any sensitivities related to vision or recurring neck and joint pain, please take this into account. I want to make sure every student can progress comfortably and enjoy the creative process to the fullest.
