Unveiled in 2016, Embraer has marketed the new E2 family as the “Profit Hunter”, sending the first demonstration aircraft around the world on a promotional tour to showcase its performance at air shows and demonstrate the aircraft to potential customers. Given a range of up to 5,000 kilometers, it is truly no longer possible to think of it as a regional jet. Three versions are currently offered, the largest and currently most in demand being the E195-E2. At the heart of Embraer’s program are Pratt & Whitney’s new geared turbofans, which in the case of the E195-E2’s generate up to 102 kN of thrust, while being significantly quieter than the previous generation of E-Jets, resulting in at least 25% less fuel. For its presentation at the Dubai Air Show 2023, the aircraft with registration PR-ZIQ received a new spectacular special: The “TechEagle”. Embraer has so far sold more than 300 aircraft of the new series.
