Muddy Waters, Chicago's King of the Blues, attracted a great deal of attention when he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in the 1970s.By the time festival founder Claude Nobbs saw him live for the first time in 1965, Muddy Waters had already become a cultural and musical force to be reckoned with, and had ignited a blues revival in the UK, which was well received outside the US. His appearance in Montreux was a major boost to his presence, and the audience went wild for him. MUDDY WATERS: THE MONTREUX YEARS features an impressive track listing of Muddy Waters' greatest hits. From the chugging standard "Mannish Boy" to the genre-defining "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man" to the bare-bones greatness of "Rosalie," the performance oozes effortless style and Delta majesty.
