Yohji Yamamoto 2024SS is constructed around the theme of “the balance between black and skin.” While grounded in the brand’s long-established aesthetic of black, it introduces lighter materials such as linen, presenting a more realistic wardrobe intended for everyday wear. In this collection, styles such as mini bottoms, sheer fabrics, lace, and strategic cut-outs reveal glimpses of skin. However, the overall impression avoids overt exposure or overtly sexualized expression. Even cropped tops that reveal the midriff are treated as design elements that emphasize bodily presence rather than sensuality, functioning as part of a broader exploration of form and structure.
