Diamond Beach is never the same twice. With every tide, new ice forms and drifts ashore—each piece sculpted uniquely by time, sea, and light. On this particular evening, I was drawn to a solitary chunk of ice, standing alone like a crystal monument on the black sand. As the sun lowered on the horizon, it caught the ice in just the right way—igniting it from within.

The sky that evening was clear and gentle, stripped of distraction. It felt as though nature had cleared the stage to spotlight this one luminous form. The ice glowed like molten gold—its shape, its texture, its fleeting beauty all captured in that singular moment. I named this photograph Ember because it reminded me of the last glowing coal of a dying fire—brief, brilliant, unforgettable.
