The Tamiya 1/35 Sd.Kfz.165 Hummel represents the German self-propelled gun used as mobile artillery support in WWII. Equipped with a 15cm L/30 howitzer in an exposed fighting compartment, the vehicle saw service from 1943 across the Eastern Front and later in western campaigns and Italy.
Called the "bumblebee" in German, the Hummel used the Geschutzwagen III/IV chassis also used by platforms such as the Nashorn. This late production kit from Tamiya includes updated mouldings for the upper hull and fighting compartment and features track parts designed as one-piece straight sections to aid authentic track droop.
Experienced modellers will enjoy the kit's crisp details and the opportunity to produce a museum-style static model. The finished build displays well on a base or in a collection and highlights period artillery layout and mechanics.
