In November of the previous year, the Beatles had a hit with "I Feel Fine," which featured the world's first feedback guitar sound in the introduction. /In 1965, the Beatles began filming their second movie, "Help! and "Yesterday," which featured a string quartet. The first five Beatles live performances from this period are from the N.M.E. popular vote concert in April 1965. In front of a large audience in London, "I Feel Fine" and "Tears on a Train Ticket," which had been released as a single two days earlier, were performed earlier.Here, John plays "I Feel Fine" on a Gibson J-160E (electric acoustic guitar), as he did on the studio version. Between filming for a movie that started in February, the band toured Europe for about two weeks, of which very few recordings have been found. The live recording of the first performance in Rome, Italy (July 27th), starting with the introduction of the Italian host, "Senure", is included in this collection. I'm A Loser" is a rare performance from this period only. Then, in August, the band appeared on "Blackpool Night Out," a special program on British TV to coincide with the film and album release of "HELP! This important show also featured several songs in the anthology film version. The complete six-song show, featuring new songs such as "Yesterday," is included on this disc. Finally, as a bonus track, a live performance recorded in London for the U.S. TV show "Shindig!
