The MR100 operates using a needle scanning method. As the probe glides across the surface, it detects fine texture deviations through vertical displacements of the stylus tip. These movements are translated into electrical signals by a piezoelectric wafer, then amplified and digitized by the built-in DSP processor. The device calculates roughness parameters and displays results instantly on the OLED screen.
