Virgin Records, a new British record label that began business in 1972, continued to make big sales and create sensational buzz in the music scene through the mid-1990s. Mike Oldfield was the first artist signed to Virgin Records when the company was founded. His debut album, "Tubular Bells," was a worldwide hit and supported the business side of Virgin Records during its early years. Mike Oldfield was negative about concert activities at the time of his debut, but after the release of his fourth album, "Spell," in 1979, he began touring actively. On June 21, 1980, he appeared as the second headliner at the "Nebworth Festival". This performance was broadcast and recorded by BBC TV and radio, and was also released on video. This release is a remastered version of the audio masters of the broadcast and released products. Only three of the 12 songs performed on the day, mainly long songs, have been remixed for the broadcast and release.This live album features Mike Oldfield's signature songs "Tubular Bells" and "Omadone" in arrangements that differ from those in the studio, and is a wonderful performance that conveys the new charm of Mike Oldfield.
