Composition

Gentamicin, the active ingredient in these eye drops, is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, which inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause infection. Veterinarians prescribe sterile Gentamicin Ophthalmic Solution for dogs and cats because it works quickly and effectively on a range of bacteria. The dropper top bottle on Gentamicin Ophthalmic Solution makes it easy to apply the drops, but be sure not to touch the tip to any part of the eye.  Gentamicin Ophthalmic is also available in an ointment.
