Description:
The legendary Flippertronics performance just before the start of the 80's Crimson is back! The Flippertronics began with the introduction of Brian Eno's collaboration, a system that utilized two Levox tape recorders and various effectors to create sound loops and drone sounds that became the prototype for the current soundscape. Flippertronics made great strides during its freewheeling production and session activities in New York at the end of the 1970s. The year 1981, when this album was recorded, was the time when King Crimson began its path of revival after receiving an epiphanic spark at the end of The League of Gentlemen's live activities. The album can be seen as the culmination of the Robert Fripp and New York era, and features a masterful performance from a time when Fripp overcame the equipment problems that often accompany analog equipment and was able to control the Frippertronics on the live stage.
