Graham Bond Organisation
Description:
The first album by the legendary super band from the British R&B scene, which also included Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker! In London, on the other hand, an R&B scene that could only be found in England was steadily taking shape. At the center of this scene were Alexis Korner and Cyril Davis, who emerged from the skiffle boom of the 1950s, and the Ealing R&B Club, which they started, and the Blues Incorporated, which was born from there. The Ealing R&B Club, which the two started, and the Blues Incorporated that sprang from it, became the launching pad for the careers of many young people in the genre, including future members of the Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, and Charlie Watts). The Graham Bond Organization was no exception, with leader Graham Bond joining Blues Incorporated in 1962 as a replacement for Cyril Davis, who had left the group after several years as alto saxophonist in the Don Rendell Quartet in the late 1950s.In February of the following year, he left the group with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker to form the Graham Bond Trio. The trio also began to play Hammond organ in addition to singing saxophone, and tenor saxophonist Dick Hextall Smith joined the trio, which became the Graham Bond Organization. ~Commentary from Commentary: Masaru Konishi
