A dream collaboration with an ideal musician. 2 LPsAmerican Grammy Award-winning composer Eric Whitaker (b.1970) releases his latest album on LP, his first collaboration with the world-renowned British a capella group Voches 8. All songs are conducted by Eric himself. The new song "All Seems Beautiful To Me" is the world premiere recording. Based on a poem by American poet Walt Whitman (1819-1892), the song celebrates the human spirit's capacity for generosity and growth. Seal Lullaby," one of Eric's most popular songs, is a new recording, and "Go, Uruwashi no Rose," a piece Eric composed 30 years ago. Singing Gentry was specially composed for Eric's "virtual choir" during Lockdown and sung by 20,000 singers from 124 countries.The Sacred Veil, a cantata for choir, cello and piano in 12 movements, was composed to a text by Charles Anthony Silvestri, Eric's longtime friend and collaborator, about the death of Silvestri's young wife, Julie, and the love they nurtured, It describes the birth of their children and their struggle with illness. Eric said of his collaboration with Voches 8, which he had positioned as his ideal vocal group, "I couldn't have wished for anything better as a composer than to have the chance to let these musicians make my music shine." I told myself how much I had always dreamed of this sound," he said, "and conducted with tears in my eyes. Voches 8 is currently nominated for a Grammy Award for their album The Lost Birds.
