Our Mercurey “La Pidancerie” comes from a parcel located in the southern part of the appellation, planted with vines around forty years old. Spread across three terraced slopes with a 6% incline, the vineyard benefits from a southeast exposure and a soil that is low in clay and rich in stones. These unique conditions give rise to a concentrated and powerful wine with dense, racy tannins—Raphaël’s personal favorite.

Tasting Notes
Mercurey “La Pidancerie” 2022

Our 2022 vintage displays an intense ruby hue. On the nose, it reveals aromas of caramel, anise, licorice, and red fruits. On the palate, it opens with a structured attack supported by assertive tannins, followed by a long finish. This racy wine, which opens up easily, is both powerful and elegant, with notes of red fruit and harmonious tannins. The oak, though present, remains in the background, allowing the fruit to fully express itself.

Service
Between 18 and 20°C

We recommend serving our wines 2 degrees above the usual temperature so they are perfectly settled and reveal all their complexity and aromas.

Ageing
All our wines are aged in oak barrels, 30% of which are new.

For our 2022 vintages, we experimented with the use of egg-shaped tanks. This unique process allows the wine to remain in constant motion, helping to preserve freshness and the purity of the fruit.

Following this successful experiment, we will continue to use these egg-shaped vessels for vintages where the fruit is ripe and juicy, in order to preserve their full fruity expression.
