Since being discovered by Randy Brecker in the early 80's, Dieter Illg has worked with Trilok Gurtu, Benny Wallace, Charlie Mariano, Nils Lundgren, Wolfgang Moospiel, and others for the past 40 years, and is one of the most important bass players in Germany and Europe. This is a solo bass album by Dieter Ilg, one of the most important bassists not only in Germany but also in Europe. Completely improvised without any prior preparation, this album is a narrative work with endless variety of melodies and rhythms, backed up by his broad musical experience and excellent playing technique. Each piece is dedicated to one of his major musical influences, including Bach, Beethoven, Nat Adderley, and Charlie Mingus, as well as to his beloved mother, and is filled with Irg's love as a musician and as a person.
