Description:
The World of Japanese Mythology: The Romanticism of Eternity Based on the descriptions in the Chronicles of Japan and the Kojiki, the poet Kitahara Hakushu composed the poem "Kaido Tosho" (The Expedition to the East), an epic cantata in eight chapters composed by Kiyoshi Nobutoki. The brilliance of this work has transcended the ages and is still intact today. The true romanticism of this work, which is created by the fusion of the lyrics by Hakushu and the music by Nobutoki, is as elegant as the music of Manyoshu, and is a true expression of the beauty of Japanese art. This album was recorded live in Kumamoto in 2014. It is a collection of works by Nobutoki, including the "String Quartet" performed at that time and the choral piece "Kiarairai" composed for Hakuju's last work. The collaboration between the Yokohama Sinfonietta led by Kazuki Yamada and musicians and choirs from Kumamoto is a must-hear. Recording year: February 11, 2014 / Location: Kumamoto Prefectural Theater Concert Hall
