Z-Wave Mesh Network Communication Overview

Z-Wave smart home systems use a wireless mesh network where commands are relayed between devices and confirmed upon completion. Control can be direct or routed through a central gateway, and automated scenes may add a small processing delay. A response time of 0.5–2 seconds is normal depending on network size and signal path.

Installation & Z-Wave Setup

Mount the thermostat in the junction box and snap the front cover into place. Connect L and N for power metering. Put the gateway in add/remove mode to include or exclude the device (removal does not reset factory settings), and keep it within 2 meters of the gateway during setup for best results.
