Vainberg (1919-1996)
Description:
Weinberg is a composer whose fame and popularity have increased markedly in recent years. This album contains his early masterpiece "Piano Quintet" and the third collection of piano pieces "Children's Notebook. The "Piano Quintet," written when Weinberg was 25 years old, is a large work in five movements with a classical appearance, and the melancholy piano melody at the beginning unifies the entire work. The melancholy piano melody at the beginning unifies the entire piece, which is sometimes played with great intensity and power. The "Children's Notebook" is also a collection of small pieces written during the same period. It was written as an educational piece for Soviet children, following the example of Schumann's "Album for Children," but it requires a certain degree of skill to play in practice. Although later criticized by Zhidanov, this delightful collection of pieces, with its variety of expressions, is now a favorite of many players. Pianist Elisaveta Blumina hails from Germany. She has released many highly acclaimed albums on various labels, including the Piano Quintet (for orchestra), "Children's Notebook," piano sonatas, and chamber music. Naxos Japan
