New Order
Description:
New Order releases live album!New Order returns to the legendary venue in their hometown of Manchester in July 2017! New live set of 18 songs with new arrangements! In July 2017, New Order descended once again on the stage of Manchester's Old Granada Studios. It was there that Joy Division made their first appearance on Tony Wilson's (founder of Factory Records) TV show "So It Goes" in 1978. This commemorative live performance is a deconstruction, re-conceptualization, and re-construction of New Order's well-known songs and ultra-rare recordings, from their earliest works to their latest releases. The album includes "Disorder" from Joy Division's "Unknown Pleasures" (performed for the first time in over 30 years!?) and the UK top 5 hit "The New Order" from the band's "Unknown Pleasures" album. ) and "Plastic" from their latest UK Top 5 album, 2015's "Music Complete".For this special show, Liam Gillick, a visual artist who has recently had solo exhibitions at Tate Britain and MoMA in New York, will collaborate with the band on visual direction, and Joe Duddell, a composer and arranger whose name often appears in the band's works, will participate in music arrangement. In addition to the band members, a 12-synth ensemble of students from the Royal Northern College of Music will join the band for live performances.
