With super rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen, Van Halen made a sensational debut in 1978 and quickly became one of the top American hard rock bands. The band overcame various problems, including a change of vocalists and the departure of original member Michael Anthony, but stopped their activities in 2006. However, the band resumed their activities in 2011, releasing a new album and touring extensively, showing that they are still going strong. In 1985, David Lee Roth left the band and Sammy Hagar, formerly of Montrose, joined as a new vocalist. The following year, "5150" was released in 1986, and reached No. 1 on the U.S. album charts. The concert in New Haven, Connecticut on August 26 was recorded for live video and radio promotion. This release will use the audio masters used for the radio broadcast.The set list consists mainly of new material and includes 14 songs, including solos and encores, as well as two additional songs from the following day's show. The live performance here is full of realism that conveys the charm of the new Van Halen, and the band's dignity as a representative of the American hard rock scene can be felt.
