Otto Klemperer Philharmonia Orchestra Mahler (1860-1911)
Description:
The 180g analog LP version will be produced in limited quantities from the original master tapes, with the latest remastering in 2023! Klemperer cherished this work, which was also the beginning of his encounter with Mahler, and performed it many times in various places after the war. Many of these recordings were well received, and this session recording for the former EMI is one of the most famous and well-received recordings of the work. From the beginning of the first movement, the first theme is full of spirit, and the insistent attention to the contrabass creates a powerful and compelling first theme, while the second theme expresses a transparent beauty without unnecessary sentimentality. In the second movement, the warm music in the lyrical pizzicato section in the latter half shows Klemperer's love for his works. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Klemperer's death in 2023, we will produce a limited number of 180g analog LPs of this masterpiece from the original master tapes with the latest remastering in 2023.
