A series of surprises in terms of both watching and listening! The 8th Deer Ring Tokyo Orchestra Deer Ring Tokyo Orchestra started in 2013, specializing in recordings, but many people inside and outside the orchestra wanted to see the Deer Ring Kyo Orchestra perform, saying that you have to actually hear it in the hall to understand it, so following the debut concert in 2018 The concert was the second performance in 2019. The venue was the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, a fitting venue for the der Ring Tokyo Orchestra, which claims to have "spatial power. Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 has been a major goal of the Deering Tokyo Orchestra since its inception. Coincidentally, September 4, the date of the performance, was Bruckner's 195th birthday, and the recording session on September 5, the next day, fell on the anniversary of the completion of Symphony No. 7 at St. Florian's Abbey outside of Linz. By an unlikely coincidence, the greatest dream of the Deer Ring Tokyo Orchestra came true. The score was the Haas version, but cymbals and triangles were added in the second movement. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the recording. The previous year (2018), the orchestra performed "Italia" standing up, which was very well received, and Bruckner was also performed standing up rather at the request of the members.Through the two performances, it was an opportunity to show that an orchestra can perform without a semicircle and that new sounds and performances can be created. Impressions of the Concert from the Liner Notes - I have never been to a concert so filled with music. Masamitsu Fukuda (audio critic)I headed to the first stand, intrigued by the announcement that the orchestra would perform in a formation that had never been seen before. It was a performance in an unexpected way that broke the conventional wisdom of classical concerts. And I was impressed by the wonderful sound. I have never been to a concert that was so fulfilling. The melody of each part was clear and the tone was beautiful, and the fact that the wind instruments sounded brilliant also added to the overall appeal. Also, the expanse of space and perspective were clear, and the bass sound of the contrabass was good. This is a way of hearing that I have never experienced at an ordinary orchestra concert. This would make a classical concert much more interesting.(Omitted) After listening to the second performance - a strange sense of elation and satisfaction Yukiko Hagiya (music critic)(Omitted) The lively sound was ascetic yet fertile. There were no frequent swings in tempo, and although it was in-tempo, it was neither expressionless nor flat. Here and there in the gentle flow of the music, there were compressions of excitement, relaxations, and increasing tensions, and there were many moving moments of release at the climax. I am truly grateful to Mr. Nishiwaki and the Deer Ring Tokyo Orchestra for throwing a stone in the direction of overturning stereotypes about how such a performance format can produce such a full sound, or rather, how such an idea even existed in the first place.
