This is the first album (eighth album in total) by James Taylor, one of the most popular singer/songwriters of the 1970s, transferred to Columbia. The producer Peter Asher, who had worked on her earlier albums such as "Sweet Baby James," was brought back to the project to promote a light, relaxed, yet sophisticated urban sound, and the album became a No. 4 hit in the United States. The recording was backed by Danny Kochmar (g), Lee Sklar (b), Russ Kankel (ds), David Sanborn (sax), and other well-known West Coast faces. The single "Handy Man" won a Grammy Award.
