After her previous album for Motown, "Someplace Else Now," did not sell well, Quincy Jones decided to bring her back into the mainstream, and she has released her first album with a group of producers including Herbie Hancock, Dave Grusin, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritner, Tom Scott, Jim Keltner, and The Brothers. The result is an ambitious album featuring a distinguished lineup including Herbie Hancock, Dave Grusin, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritner, Tom Scott, Jim Keltner, Brothers Johnson, Toots Sielmans, Ralph McDonald, Jeff Porcaro of TOTO, David Paich, and many others.The title song, which would later be covered by Dusty Springfield, Patti Austin, and many other artists; "Along the Way," a refreshing jazz fusion tune featuring Toots Sielmans on harmonica; "Another Lady," arranged by Quincy Jones and Dave Grusin; and "Some Times," a disco number featuring The Brothers Johnson. Dave Grusin's arrangement of "Other Lady," and the disco number "Summertimes" featuring The Brothers Johnson, as well as single versions of "Immortality" and "Kive It to Me Sweet Thing," which were released prior to the album.
