In 1941, after numerous different inheritances, Starda was taken over by Malaspina Santarelli, a noble family who bought all of the properties and houses, giving life to "Fattoria Castello di Starda".

This vineyard is an architectural delight of the Chianti Classico region and has a total of 8 hectares of vineyards. Not only does it produce Chianti Classico DOCG wine but it also produces Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, Vin Santo and Grappa. Each of their products is produced under the brand of Malaspina, honouring the ancient aristocratic family who lived there.
