Biotin Plus is a hoof and coat supplement for horses that aids in rapid hoof growth, improves weak or cracked hooves and gives a lustrous coat, mane, and tail. 

Each scoop of the biotin supplement for horses contains 50 mg of biotin plus linseed meal, Brewer’s dried yeast, wheat germ, stabilized rice bran, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, D-Calcium Pantothenate, D-Biotin and L-Methionine.

Feed one to two scoops daily of the hoof supplement or as directed by your veterinarian.

• Biotin Plus has the distinction of having revolutionized the biotin supplement industry. Equilife | Paragon Performance Products were the first company to use pharmaceutical grade untriturated (blended) biotin in a feed supplement. • Why 50 mg? Published field studies conducted by a prominent Kentucky veterinarian clearly establish 50 mg of biotin as a daily addition to the equine diet as the minimum amount to maintain healthy hoof tissue. Less than 50 mg was found to be an insufficient amount of biotin to effect acceptable improvement to damaged or unhealthy hooves.
  
• Why is the methionine in Biotin Plus lower than other products? This is an important question. Most companies base their methionine levels on a study done which referred to methionine levels in the hoof. The study was found to be flawed, as there is no methionine present in hoot tissue.
  Methionine is a powerful amino acid of a type called “sulphur-bearing”. This type of amino acid, when combined with other nutrients, especially biotin, stimulates collagen production. Collagen is the substance which creates skin, hair, and hoof (also fingernails). Too much methionine has potentially dangerous side effects. For that reason, Biotin Plus contains the correct amount of pharmaceutical grade l-methionine to help collagen production, and always at a safe, non-toxic level.
  
• What about mane and tail growth? The same elements which combine to make hooves grow, cause hair to grow. Biotin Plus is unequalled in putting beautiful manes and tails on horses.
  
• Does Biotin Plus improve hair coat quality as well? Both on horses and small animals, the fatty acids, amino acids and other elements in Biotin Plus combine to make dappling, and deep lustrous shine a hallmark of the product.
  
• What is D-Calcium Pantothenate? It is an alkaline (non-acid) form of vitamin B-5. Because it is a powerful factor in healing, Paragon uses it in all its products. Since B vitamins are normally classified as acids, they can change the Ph balance in the intestinal tract, and effect absorbtion. Since D-Calcium Pantothenate is not acid, all of Paragon Performance Products can be fed together with great benefit, and the Ph balance of the animal’s “hindgut” remains unaffected
