The Selecter is one of the most popular and representative bands of the movement, along with The Specials and Madness. The Selecter is a mixed band of black and white members (this mixed-race composition is said to be the origin of the name "2 Tones"), and at the same time, it is a mixed-gender band with members that transcend race and gender, and it faces ska head-on with straightforward and poignant ska beats and lyrics that make the movement even clearer. The band's straight-forward, biting ska beats and poignant lyrics made the ska movement even clearer. Their second album "Celebrate The Bullet", released in 1981, follows the first 2TONE masterpiece "Too Much Pressure" in 1980, and is now available on 2022 remastered LP! This album was the last of their early works before the departure of their red-hot vocalist, Pauline Black.Its engaging vocals, lyrics that cut to the heart of sexism, racism, and social issues, and mischievous and poignant ska beats are still alive and well.
