Beach Fossils

Description:

Influenced by jazz artists such as Bill Evans, Lester Young, Chet Baker, and Vince Galardi, Beach Fossils releases an album produced with piano, saxophone, and upright bass. Dustin Peyser wanted to capture the feeling of listening to jazz in his compositions, and there are always elements of jazz in Beach Fossils' songs. Chords are rarely played, but the instruments play single notes that come together to form chords. He gathered a group of jazz musicians who were his friends and collaborated with him to create songs. Tommy Gardner, who knew each other at the Juilliard School and shared a common appreciation for jazz, and who was the drummer for Beach Fossils from 2011-2016, joined on piano, saxophone, and upright bass, bringing him closer to his ideal of the piece. The jazz arrangements of the Beach Fossils' classic songs, well-known to fans, seem to be completely different works, yet share a common philosophy.
