Description:
This is the 16th collection in the bootleg series, which has become a valuable reflection of the early 1980s. The deluxe edition includes 57 songs by Bob Dylan from 1980-85, 54 of which are completely unreleased. Disc 1 tells the story of his careful rehearsals of "Senor (Yankee Power Story)" and "To Ramona" from 1980-81, and his work on re-arranging trad tunes such as "Well Woman" and "Mary of the Wild Moors". The band also surprises with cover songs such as "Mystery Train," which features a guest appearance by Ringo Starr. Disc 2 contains outtakes and alternate takes from the recording of "Shots of Love". Discs 3 and 4 mainly consist of songs written by Dylan for "Infidel". Disc 5 contains alternate takes and outtakes from the production of "Empire Burlesque," including an early draft of "Brownsville Girl," an early draft of "New Danville Girl," and an unreleased take of Dylan's canonical "Dark Eyes," which was selected. This is a valuable work that reflects the first half of the 80s, a time of trial and error but also of fulfillment. Luxury book with commentary and unpublished photos (import), CD storage pack (import), three-sided box (import), Japanese booklet with complete English translation, newly written commentary, lyrics and bilingual translation enclosed.
