This is the fifth and sixth installment of the highly successful "Jazz Collection 1000" series, released four times in 2014 (February, March, September, and October: 50 titles each). As with the previous four releases, 100 titles from Sony Music's extensive jazz catalog, centered on the two major U.S. labels Columbia and RCA, are included, including first CD releases of long-awaited works and rare works that are currently difficult to obtain (Vol. 5: 50 titles released on October 14; Vol. 6: 50 titles released on November 6). The special price is 1,000 yen plus tax (1,500 yen plus tax for the 2-disc set). All titles include new liner notes. Flamenco is the blues for Spaniards. Miles Davis, who says "Flamenco is the blues for Spaniards," created the great orchestral sound with Gil Evans in a monaural mix. Composer Joaquin Rodrigo wrote the "Aranjuez Concerto" for classical guitar, which became popular in the jazz world because of the great performance on this album.The sound sources from the CD box "Original Mono Recordings" released in 2013 (latest remastering from analog masters) are used. ◆Period limited special price edition (until March 31, 2017) / Liner notes / Remastered
