The piece is handblown by glass artisan Hyunsung Cho who creates delicately shaped glassware in his studio in Seoul, South Korea. Recalling the wonder of nature, the cups and stems of his graceful glasses evoke spring flowers that sprout from seeds after winter. Cho uses crushed colored glass and very thin gold leaf to decorate the unique and beautifully shaped stems of his glassware. For each glass, Cho hand blows the cup, the stem, and the foot, and then puts the three parts together to create glassware that is a lasting treasure.
