Pooley's icon chardonnay, the Elizabeth Anne, is again in fine form in the '23 vintage. Unctuous white peach, nectarine, lemon and grapefruit fruit tones along with daubs of grilled cashews, spiced oatmeal, dried meadow flowers, nougat, almond meal, crushed shells, whey, hazelnut cream and a wisp of struck flint further back. There's a lemony draw on the palate with clotted cream, tight, briny acidity and a really lovely savoury and stone wake to mark its passage. 96 / 100 Dave Brookes - Halliday Wine Companion
