The Enlightenment, which began in England in the late 17th century, spurred musicians to hone their skills and achieve artistic independence. Violinists, including Paganini, performed throughout Europe with their instruments, demonstrating their superb technique and astonishing many people, including other musicians. This album contains works by virtuoso violinists/composers active in the 18th and 19th centuries.
