The first album by The Time, a group of Minneapolis dudes who started as Prince's protégé band and produced Jam & Lewis, is being reissued in a long-awaited two-disc deluxe edition analog LP with six bonus analog tracks, including a single edit, in celebration of its 40th anniversary. reissue! They were formed with Prince's childhood friend Maurice Day as the frontman, and made their debut under the production of Prince. Their self-titled debut album, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, is being reissued in long-awaited analog format. Produced by Jamie Starr (an alias of Prince) and Maurice Day, the album features danceable numbers with cheap synth sounds, such as the medium funk "Get It Up" (No. 6 on the R&B chart) and the cool upbeat "Cool" (No. 7 on the chart). The song "Cool" (No. 7), a cool upbeat number in Prince's direct lineage, became a single hit. It was also certified as a gold disc in the U.S.Incidentally, it is said that Prince himself did most of the playing on this album. After this, they appeared as a rival band in Prince's blockbuster movie "Purple Rain," and became even more popular due in part to the characterization of Maurice Day. The new analog release is a 2-LP "deluxe edition" that includes a bonus LP with single edits of five songs from the album, including "Get It Up," "After High School," and "The Stick. Cool" is included in Part 1 and Part 2.
