The turn of the century brought a resurgence of interest in ferrotype photography. Instead of requiring a thin sheet of metal, specially prepared papers, like these "Quality Straco Cards" made by S. D. P. could be used to produce direct, instantaneous photographs--similar to the rise, fall, and nostalgic resurgence in Polaroid's popularity.
