Description:

The frenzy of that day is now available on vinyl! Takashi Yoshimatsu, a pioneer of the new classical music era, celebrates his 70th birthday in 2023 with a live recording of his anniversary performance. He is an indispensable figure in the Japanese classical music world, and continues to captivate a wide range of audiences with his one-of-a-kind worldview, including numerous masterpieces for orchestra and piano, as well as "Tarkas" and "Atom Hearts Club Suite," his masterpiece that fused progressive rock and classical music, and music for the NHK historical drama "Taira no Kiyomori. The current work is a work of music for the year 2023, 3 years after the end of the Japanese occupation. This release includes a recording of the "Takashi Yoshimatsu's 'Heroes'" concert held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space on March 11, 2023. This concert was held as Yoshimatsu's 70th anniversary performance and featured a program of selected masterpieces from Yoshimatsu's orchestral works, including "The Birds Are Silent...," "Bird Sinfonia," and "Talcas" in the first part and "Symphony No. 3" in the second part. The Tokyo Symphony Orchestra led by Keitaro Harada gave a solid, groove-filled, and powerful performance that sent the audience into a frenzy, making this a truly masterful performance for the new era. The album contains all the songs from the performance and fully delivers Takashi Yoshimatsu's worldview where romance and rock intersect.
