The LGT Young Soloists was formed in 2013 by a group of talented young string artists between the ages of 13 and 23 at the urging of Alexander Gilman, who is a member of the LGT Young Soloists, a group of young artists with a bright, clear string sound and full of song. The members are all winners of international competitions and have won a total of more than 70 awards. Since its debut, the group has toured extensively and received high acclaim in many countries around the world. Their fourth new album for RCA Red Seal is a collection of beautiful and highly technical masterpieces for solo strings and string ensemble. The music is easy to listen to, programmed largely from encore pieces from recent concerts, including "Meditation of Thais," "Bottegini: Tarantella," and "Piazzolla: Le Grand Tango. Each solo is played by a member of the ensemble in turn, and features famous instruments such as the Stradivari and Guarneri, contributed by many sponsors.Not only is this a collection of encore pieces filled with the charms of such wonderful instruments, but the bright, clear string sounds and songful cantabile by the young artists breathe new life into the familiar classics.
