Doug Mayer’s addition to his popular series “Canadian Pacific Railway on the Revelstoke Division: Volume Eight” is now available at the Revelstoke Railway Museum. It is sure to please anyone with an interest in railroading in the Revelstoke region.

Once again, Doug has sourced a variety of photographs from numerous collections and photographers, including the Center for Railroad Photography; Art, Bill Hooper, Peter Cox, Mark Simpson Collection, the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, and of course the Revelstoke Railway Museum.

Doug has an unerring eye for interesting photographs and background stories. He shares his encyclopedic knowledge of the CPR’s operations and facilities in the Revelstoke Division, with expert commentary by other noted experts in the field. In Volume Eight, Doug discusses: the Museum’s SD-40 No. 5500; the fatal 1952 wreck of T1A Selkirk No. 5917; the mill at Donald BC; and an especially interesting feature on CP’s 32-unit fleet of Robots.

As with all of his previous volumes, Doug generously donates his research and writing to the Revelstoke Heritage Railway Society and any revenues raised from the sale of his books go directly to the Revelstoke Railway Museum.
