Hurst never offered a short shifter for the PT Cruiser GT 2.4L Turbo. So, we took one of our Neon SRT-4 shifters and analyzed what would be necessary to install a SRT-4 Hurst shifter into a PT Turbo. It turns out that the SRT-4 Neon shifter was virtually identical to the PT Turbo shifter, except that the shifter stalk is much higher in the PT Turbo, AND, due to the Getrag transmission, reverse is UP and to the LEFT instead of down and the right.

So, We studied the Hurst catalog of shift stalks, and found one that would work perfectly with the Hurst Neon SRT-4 shifter, and give the proper height for shifting in the taller seat PT Cruiser GT models. Then we worked on finding the correct pattern shift knob because a Neon SRT-4 shift ball is not going to work with the Getrag shift pattern.

We have installed this kit in our own 2003 PT Cruiser GT and its working out great! Check out our installed photo!
