Description:
Mustafa, the wounded angel singing for a friend who has made Drake and James Blake weep, is set to release his debut album! After being hooked up with Drake and writing songs for The Weeknd and Khaled, James Blake was instantly captivated by Mustafa's voice. Mustafa began his career as a poet in Toronto's Regent Park, where he spent a rough adolescence, and gained attention for his poems about Africa and local poverty. The unfortunate deaths of his friends led him to become a singer-songwriter to tell the untold and heartless lives of young black people living in urban communities. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Richie Havens, he honed his own singing style as a means of synesthesia.James Blake, who was so fascinated by their talent, produced "Stay Alive," "Air Forces" with Jamie xx, "Ali" co-produced by Matthew Tavares, a former member of BADBADNOTGOOD, and "Capo" with Sanfa and her beautiful voice. The album features "Ali," co-produced by former BADBADNOTGOOD member Matthew Tavares, and "Capo," in which he and Sanfa share a beautiful voice, as well as "Inner City Folk Music" that will touch the hearts of all who hear it. Coincidentally, it has been 10 years since James Blake made his debut, and here we have a memorable debut album by a singer-songwriter who will take up the baton and represent the next decade. In addition to the standard black vinyl, a dark green vinyl version will be released simultaneously in limited quantities.
